Got another one!
Hello all. Im a new And proud owner owner of an 87 Bonneville SE. 78k miles on her only. Nothing funner than striking fear into the hearts of imports with a grocery getter. So far I've opened up the intake, put a resistor in the IAT sensor so I didn't have to drill any holes. I painted the valve covers red and 86'd the muffler on my break at work.
It looks really bad because it was near a tornado and got pinged around by misc. wood and metal chips. Then bare metal sits for some odd years, and... well, you get the rest. Runs like a champ. Im not gonna touch the body. Its the PERFECT sleeper!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Im a general autmotives mechanic. I have the right resistor in the IAT sensor. Because of that and the opened intake, the throttle response picked up a lot and I get about the same mileage.
I perused (sp?) a little, I know street racing stories are a no-no. I merely meant to accent the fact that this car is gonna make a great sleeper (even though it was just a neon). Anyways, it wont happen again .

Honestly Im not sure about the Ohm rating, but the resistor is in the place of the sensor. Well, the sensor is a resistor. At so many degrees temp (celcius or fahr. not too sure) it tells the computer a different number of ohms resistance. I think it may be a bi-metallic strip if its not a resistor. Anyways, Its all for emissions and frankly I could care less. I passed so thats all that counts. When I bought it ( 5 bucks) they said it would tell the computer a constant 40* Fahr. reading, but I just needed something so I could 86 the sensor without messing with the computer. Plus it allowed me to open up the intake. I've had it like it is for a few months and it has purred like a kitten every time I put the key in.
