Default Project Bonnevil

I've recently acquired a '93 SSEI. After many a discussion with the Misses I now have myself a new project car. I am looking forward to becoming an active member in the community and greatly expanding my knowledge of forced induction motors.

I am documenting my little hobby along the way and will post updates any time one of the dozens of little projects needed has been completed.

stay tuned...

Welcome

What exactly is the "project" portion of the car you are facing? (Most of have "projects" just getting our daily drivers to what we want... ) Update would be awesome!

This weekend I am going to be fiber glassing a few rust spots in the wheel wells, sanding down the paint and am going to paint it flat rattle-can black. It'* going to look terribly mean. This car will never be a daily driver, just something I can bomb around in on weekends and scare little old ladies with.

I'll post a bunch of before and after pics soon. Thanks for the interest.

Day 1 : Rust removal and fiber glass.

1 - cheap *** $25 dollar angle grinder
1 - 4" wire brush
1 - fibre glass repair kit
1 - 3M red scuffing pad
200 Grit sandpaper
4 - shitty cans of light beer.

Total cost: $75. Time: 2.5 hours

The Beast:

Drivers side rust

Passenger side

After session with grinder and wire wheel

Primer

Adhesive mesh

Fiberglass

The heart

I still have to do one more round of fibreglass, sand, and then paint. My apologies to for the sizing of some of the pics. The hosting site was being a pain in the ***.

I also realize that this thread has gone outside the scope of this section. I was wondering if a moderator could move this to a more appropriate group.

Thanks for looking.
