2001 Malibu - No Start Condition

I'm new to this site and this is my first post.

Looking for some advice to confirm my fuel pump is dead on the 2001 Malibu.

I have a no start condition. So far I've determined the following:
Car cranks but does not start.
Car will run for a few seconds if I spray starter fluid in the throttle body.
No fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
At the fuel pump relay it appears I have a constant power feed at one pin and power feed at a second pin for a few seconds when the key is turned on.
The relay clicks when the key is turned on.
The fuel pump fuse is good.
I do not hear the pump run for the prime when the key is turned on.

How can I confirm I'm getting power to the pump?

Can I apply power to the pump from an external source to see if it will run?

I'd hate to drop the tank and find out it's not the pump.

Disconnect the connector at the pump harness next to the tank. OHM out the ground wire to a known good ground. Then test for a 2second voltage when key is turned on on the + side of the pump harness.

If you don't have accurate electrical schematics for your car, I wouldn't suggest applying 12v to anything. Things might go boom.

On another note, being your car is 13+ years old, I'm suspecting you have a bad pump anyway.

Thanks for the quick response. Sounds like I will be ordering a pump.
