Default Bonneville from 1989-2000 could be a nightmare

I must say that more often than not it was the owner and driver of the "new" Bonneville that became my nightmare. As a service manager at a Pontiac/GMC dealership from 1996-1999 the Bonneville was my personal demo of choice which gave me common ground with the BV owners. Now I drove them because the sound system in the SSEI was just absolutely rockin', the supercharged motor would get me down the highway to a meeting in amazing speed, and the body was classy but didn't make me look like an insurance salesman. So for my personal use these cars were a dream.
They only became a thorn in my side when one would pass the door of my service department with a person that had lost all touch with reality and no longer understood elementry mechanics.
Like the fact that a machine will make noise, they will use petroleum, they do ride on wheels, and no matter how great they are, sometimes they have problems. Sure you might be smirking thinking "Yeah, whatever dude." but when it is 110 degrees outside and your new car breaks down or the a/c wont cool, we all become stupid to some degree. Sure I was there to help in those situations but as they came through the door I might as well have been doin their wife, drinkin their whisky and taking their jobs the way they wanted to chew on my ***. Now I am a patient man and could ride most of it but I think I remember almost all of the actual problems the vehicles that came through my shop while I was either dispatching, writing service, or managing the shop.
Dang, I always ramble way too much, sorry. All I really wanted to say is that if my memory doesn't slip anymore, hopefully I can contribute something helpful.
Later,
Phlash Tulsa

Default Ok

Thanks for the heads up of the forum scripture 8 simple rules. Maybe I should print them off and laminate them to my screen since my memory is like swiss cheese these days .
One quick question while I am here; does GM still have a problem with battery cable bolts punching out the back of the connecting plate? I ask because today I was dropping the tank on my dad'* 92BV and being the good son I am, I was going to go through most everything and when I got to the battery terminals.......the bolt, cable, and post just fell off leaving the drizzle that keeps on giving.
Many a parts warranty given during the late 90'* for just that very simple engineering oversight. Ok, guess that was a small ramble.... they get shorter with time. lol
Thanks all,
Rambler (guess it fits)

Woo! Rambler 1, meet Rambler 2! (see my intro post, I've got you beat by about 6 paragraphs! lol). Hey, nothing wrong with being talkative on here, as long as you can put together a coherent sentance and don't talk like you're stuck in a 4th grade time warp...people have given me alot of crap, but its all in good fun. So far everyone here has been great...but everyone might want to start calling me "Rumbler" instead, due to the fact that my exhaust pipe has broken for the second time right behind the cat....
