1. Lower intake manifold gaskets. These typically fail around 100k miles.
2. Supercharger coupler. Also usually fails around 100k miles. On the
Series 1, it's easiest to remove the entire supercharger to perform a
replacement. You should take the opportunity to also replace the fuel
injector o-rings at this time. The Forced Induction section has numerous
topics on this.
3. Differential failure. This also typically happens at 100-150k. It's
made worse by 'one-wheel-wonders', or burnouts in a turn. As a rule,
NEVER do this. A stronger built differential can be built if you have
this failure.
4. 2nd gear clutches. These suffer from the brutal low-end torque of the
Series 1 L67. If you have your trans rebuilt, make sure you install a
shift kit to prevent this.
