Hello new here, im Dalton and I have a all original 1974 Trans am 455 3 speed auto Numbers matching. I am the fourth owner, my father was the third owner. It has 65595 original miles. The paint is also original but it has oxidation in certain areas. Buccaneer Red. The under body is clean for a 46 yr old car. The only part that was replaced was a water pump back in the 80'*. There are a few missing or broken body parts but nothing that is a major issue. Yes in the pictures the hood scoop does says SD-455, we are 99% sure that it is just a normal 455. The VIN does show a Y in the appropriate spot, so according to that its not a super duty.
The story is that my dads friend bought the car in 78-79, then sold to my father in 81. Well he drove it till I was born in 93. There was some type of boot or clutch boot in the rear end, he ended up parking it and not touching the car again for 27 years. Now me 27 yrs old decided that I want to see if it will run to potentially see if we could sell it. So a little more then a week ago we pulled the car out, put in fresh gas, new battery, changed a fuel line and after a couple tries she started right up. To say that this car sounded like the day it rolled off the factory floor would be an understatement! She purred like she should, we let her idle for a while and she was just fine. We changed the oil, flushed the antifreeze, new air filter, have air intake parts on order. We took her around the block 4 times to check how everything was running, and everything was registering right where its suppose to be.
Basically I'm here because I have a decent idea of what I could sell this car for. I need your help to let me know what its worth. I've been to all the classic car sites, all the value sites, auctions, private sells, and tons of research. What do you guys think you would offer for this car? I have listed some pictures to help. Like I said the car is for sale, so if you are interested, lets talk.
