Purge Valve Repair on 2015 GMC Yukon Denali
#12
The same p0442. Yeah I am hoping for just an easy purge valve repair, but it will probably be something else with the evap system. I guess I could go get a new gas cap too.

Those small leaks can be a bugger to find. We used nitrogen instead of smoke. With a small leak the nitrogen will find it'* way through the leak much easier than smoke. Use soapy water and spray around and you will see it.

Took the vapor line hose off last night and the connection ends were so brittle that they cracked! I temporarily fixed with tape until I can replace with oem hose or generic. I am hoping this is where the small leak is coming from. The hose I am referring to is #7 in diagram. I can't find the oem part at this time. The integrity of the line does not give me a lot of confidence in the rest of the evap system. I cleared the p0442 code and will see if my tape patch job helps. This weekend I plan on getting a new hose and purge valve installed.

Cracked like that it was likely leaking enough to set a code.
