Hey, welcome to the forum!
Both trucks are governed from the factory at around 100mph (I think), so the only difference would be the acceleration, which in a truck, isn't going to be a noticeable difference.
What years are you looking at? The early 2000'* Sierras have really nice seats in them, and have a good ride. I'm not familiar with the HD'* though.

Well a 2500 will have more hauling capacity but keep in mind will also have stronger suspension componets. So its all about what you wanna do with it if your tryinbg to lay rubber like a roofer n haul *** like the devil a truck may not be your best bet but trucks are quick ( i own alot of trucks) and are purpose built but can do anything you ask them to! Also a Z71 will have more skid plates and be slighly more offroad minded

I like the 2011 GMC Seirra 2500 I drive. It had the 6.2l makes great Hp and it plenty quick for a truck that size.
It has great towing abilities and it handles really nice a for truck. Mine has bluetooth, and navigation. Two very nice features to have.

All depends on what you are going to do with the truck. If you haul heavy loads all the time and tow nore than 6000 then maybe you need the 2500. If you haul normal loads and tow under 6000 and want better fuel milage and more of a car like ride then a 1500 might be better. I like the ride and comfort of my 1500 Sle it does everything I need
