Default 1997 c1500 vortec 5.7 rebuild

I have the engine apart and I want a cam that will run off of the computer and MPFI fuel injection, I don't mind buying new springs, rollers, lifters ext.

If you still have the stock exhaust, a new/bigger cam won't do much if it cant breath good from the engine all the way to the tip.

there are tons of cams available for the vortec 350, depends what you want to do with it, tow, race, street hooligan? whatever you do it will have to be tuned either by someone like blackbear performance or by buying HPT program and tuning it yourself.

as far as the mpfi, delphi fj-10566 is the one to get and i got mine from parts geek. amazon and rock auto have it sometimes for cheaper, goes up by the day like gas have to check around.

i only have experience with high rpm race stuff, your best bet is to call up summit racing or something tell them you want something with good low and torque, and see what they say. most say the stock springs need to be replaced if you go over .480 lift, which you want if you are going to get the most out of it. then you need to get it tuned.

You also have to match the RPM range of your new cam to that of the torque converter, unless of course your manual. Otherwise, your power will be either to high or too low for your stall.
