CSFI to MPFI injector swap

CSFI to MPFI injector swap
I have a problem maybe you guys can help...
I have a 97 suburban L31 vortec and did a mpfi swap
The swap worked great
FOR A WHILE
Ended up losing fuel pressure because the mpfi metering body had cracked internally allowing all fuel to run into the return line Instead of holding pressure. I tried numerous FPR'* with no change. I was out of my warranty so I'm stuck with a very expensive hunk of plastic. My question is can I swap my mpfi injectors into a csfi metering body?? I have the bracket for the injectors so it seems like it would work...

No, you can't. On the older style CSFI systems, the valves are inside the body of the injector pod. On the newer style MPFI, the injectors are at the end of the plastic fuel lines. How would you be able to open the valves inside the pod when the harness goes to the actual injectors?

Just because Mike didn't give you the response you were hoping to get doesn't mean he is being rude. He is asking a question to prove his point. If Mike was being rude you would not have to ask if he was being rude ... there would be no doubt in your mind.

www.fuelinjector.citymaker.com explains the difference between the two units. The MPFI spider conversion has actual fuel injectors with the electrical wires to them where as the CSFI poppets do not. The MPFI was used on 2002-2007 Vortec engines according to the website, perhaps a junkyard could defray some costs.
