Default Help/Advice/Legal Action needs to happen!

This is regarding my '15 GMC Yukon Denali and the many issues/problems that are happening with it and the local dealership and GM itself. All these issues are under OEM warranty as well. The 2 local dealerships that are severely incompetent and have done nothing but screw around, play games and mess my vehicle up are Northland Chevrolet & Kolar Chevrolet. PLEASE DO NOT EVER go to these dealerships, they are an absolute joke!

The main issues that are the problem, were the entire frame on the vehicle was completely rusted after it being a year old, the radio and one of the headlamps. The GM dealerships didn't do the rust repair, they used a local company (I don't know who) perform the work. The radio timeshift feature worked perfectly for a year, then just stopped working for no reason and there were several defects in the drivers headlamp that relate to the fit & finish. The biggest issues are what happened to the vehicle during the rust repair. The hackjob company that did it are obviously a bunch of morons, as they got overspray over all of my brand-new rims, over one of the rotors, over several places in the engine bay, over the top of the engine cover and radiator cover and many other places. They obviously didn't do any prep to mask areas off, they simply sprayed and prayed. I've filed complaints with the BBB, Attorney General, GM customer assistance center and nothing seems able to be done. I have sent some info to a lemon law attorney but have not heard anything back yet regarding the situation. According to GM, the vehicle was fixed properly and there is nothing they can do, and will no longer have anything else to say regarding these complaints with the vehicle.

Take a look at these pics and let me know if you think this is acceptable and I should be happy with these results.

Whatever chemical they used to try and clean all there mess off of my wheels left a coating that was not able to be simply washed off. I had to hand polish and buff each wheel, which took the better part of a day since a lot of it required it to be done 2X to get all of the residue off. You can see how it was over the rotor and they tried to clean it off and it ran leaving the stains. They got it everywhere in the engine bay, and with it being on the exhaust, it smelled for days not only while driving but in the garage it stunk for over a week. Honestly, they didn't even bother to coat the frame where the vehicle was on the hoist!! This isn't acceptable no matter what the price of any vehicle, let alone a $83K+ vehicle. It'* absolutely asinine, and I can't imagine how GM thinks this was handled correctly.

You can see the residue over all the wheels and when the chemical they used ran, it stained all 4 tires leaving the runs that you can see. The wheels were a week old prior to having the vehicle in for service. I was absolutely furious that I had to do all this work to get them cleaned and near new again.

They had to remove the front bumper to replace the drivers side headlight, they disconnected one of my foglights and didn't bother to hook it back up, so I had to do that as well. And then something must have happened, if you can see the paint protection film is not right. It looks like it got stretched and reheated and then it didn't stick completely after they tried to repair it. I've been doing paint protection film for 10 years, I know exactly how it'* applied and what happens when you don't install it properly. This was not how it went into the dealer!

And finally, the radio. The timeshift feature worked for about a day and immediately upon leaving the dealership the radio started to do this:

So I'm at a loss here, I just can't believe that GM doesn't care, and I also forgot to mention, I sent all these pics throughout the following week to the service advisor I had been dealing with. She didn't respond to any of them, so I finally sent a contact request off the Kolar'* website regarding this. I requested the service manager contact me regarding the situation and here was his response:

" Mr Jahn

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you . We are not able to meet your expectation .
We suggest you return to the dealer that it was purchased from they maybe able to offer you further assistance for your concerns

Kolar"

Unbelievable! So any help or ideas or such would be greatly appreciated. I also made GM aware that I've owned over 12 GM vehicles in my life and currently own 5 GM vehicles. I also am having over a dozen issues with my '16 CTS that are not being addressed by GM either. They obviously don't care and I'm not going to be giving GM any business again if they don't do something to rectify this situation. There is no excuse for this whatsoever, no matter what the problems are, something needs to be done! Please take a look at my website so you can see how I care for my vehicles and who I am so that you don't think I'm just some idiot who is whining or making unsubstantiated claims.

Thanks

Forgot to add, this was the email I received this morning from the customer assistance center:

Thank you for your taking the time to respond to our email.

We are so sorry you feel that way based on your current situation. Still, we appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns with your 2015 GMC Yukon. Please bear in mind that our Senior Advisor, Adrianne, has already worked with the Customer Experience Manager and District Manager for Aftersales and has determined a resolution to involve your selling dealership. Kolar GMC has already performed the repair based on its warranty.

Again, we have reviewed your Service Request 8-3045336429 and sincerely apologize that the decision was not in accordance with your wishes; however, this is the final decision of GMC and we will no longer address additional communications on this subject. Please feel free to contact us again with any other concerns you may have outside of this issue.

Is that XM radio or FM radio? Or does it happen on both? What about cd'*/MP4'*?

As for the rust, all they did was spray over it?

Unfortunately, a stronger case would be to have "before" pictures.....If you paid someone to remove the over spray and had that documented, that would have probably helped too....

Fit and finish on the headlamp? Did you buy this new? How many miles were on it when bought? could have been damaged/repaired before you bought it?.....

For them to say to you to bring it to the dealer you bought it from, is a huge no-no......sure sounds like GM dropped the ball here....

The radio issue was happening while it was on XM, it would do what it was doing and change to AM/FM/XM stations at random. It'* only done that a few times since they did some "update" to the radio, but the timeshift feature no longer works, which is really upsetting. Had an '11 Explorer and the feature was awesome, worked perfectly and did work fine in the Yukon until it suddenly stopped. Then whatever updated they did only made it worse.

For the headlamp, both headlamps were replaced last year due to excessive moisture and leaking issues. Subsequently they still both have moisture issues, but there were many imperfections in the lamp itself. Jagged edges, marred edges on the interior of the headlamp housing and exterior. For an $1000+ price of a headlamp, it was beyond unacceptable. So they did replace it, but caused subsequent issues as a result. The vehicle was purchased used, and we had no problems with the vehicle until the 1st GM dealership did work on it.

Luckily I did take before pics of the frame, and I'm pretty certain all they did was spray over it without any actual sanding or stripping of the OEM coating that was falling off. As for it'* current status, all the overspray is still everywhere except for the wheels, there'* no way I would pay anyone to fix it unless it was prepaid and can guarantee that they will return the vehicle to the same state as it was upon dropping it off at the dealership. Also, I could easily do the work, but I will not do it for free either. So I just don't understand how GM can say that the work was done and the dealership doesn't stand behind the work performed? It'* pretty obviously there is a lot of fault that lies within GM and how they allow their dealerships to be ran.

The ball has most certainly been dropped by the dealership and GM. It'* beyond unacceptable and will keep fighting this case until a satisfactory solution is agreed upon.

Sorry, please refrain from posting links to commercial sites. It makes it look like you are advertising.

Im not, that was the link to my website. I'm not advertising anything, so I'm not sure why it was removed. It was to show people who I am. I'm not trying to sell anyone anything, so I'd appreciate it being put back. Thanks
