Front differential mounting bracket
 

07 silverado 5.3 V8 4x4 with 33" tires and 2" Rancho coil spring mod to front end. I broke the driver side case at top mounts. The hanging bracket on the passenger side seems to have a lot of play but bushings do not look bad or cracked. Is the hanging bracket supposed to have play? I was offloading when the differential broke but did not hit hard on my skid plate and do not think it happened from impact. I also know larger tires can put more stress on the diffential. Any and all input is helpful.

I've never seen one break like that before. If I had to guess, it probably fractured from some impact event many miles ago and the fracture got worse over time. This does not appear to be related to bigger tires.
