2003 Chevy Tahoe - Front Brakes - Pads and Rotor Replacement
It'* been awhile since I've done a brake job (40+ years - just getting back into DIY in retirement)... Anyway, I replaced the front pads and rotors on my 2003 Tahoe yesterday and noted that the pads don't retract from the rotor after the brake is released - they stay in contact with the rotor all the time.
I'm wondering if this normal?
The caliper assembly 'floats' as expected and I can see the pads sliding on the guides, so I assume I installed everything correct.
Thoughts?

Yes, this is normal for the pads to just float against the rotor.
