Default 2011 Terrain Spun Bearings

I need some information, my wife'* 2011 Terrain V6 was purchased used April 2013. We have records of (3) oil changes since ownership and now number (2) and (3) main bearings have spun. Number (3) has a hot spot on it. Could the hot spot be caused by anything, like say an out of round condition from MFG.? Vehicle ran great prior to this event, and yes there was oil in it. GM Dealer does not make me feel like they are an advocate for me to get GM to replace it. Really concerned here that I will end up paying out of pocket for something that should be under GM Power Train Warranty... Need help and advice.

Then that should fall under your powertrain warranty. GM should be picking up the tab on it then.

Yes I agree but the dealership tried to put it thru my secondary warranty Route 66 first and told them I did not have service records!!! Route 66 declined stating it should be covered by GM. What should I do?

How many miles do you put on oil changes. Do you use synthetic or conventional. The reason Im asking is these engines like to buildup sludge inside the engine when the oil isn't changed. When this happens bearings get starved for oil. We get a lot of customer come in with over 9k miles on a lof. At best the engine is better off getting replaced. My question is why are they not working with you?

I am trying to understand why the dealership is presenting everything in a negative manner to me as the customer. Typically I change every 3k to 4k miles, keeping an eye on the oil life monitor. Every time I check the oil when I fill up with gas it has been clean. Last oil change I did myself and was like man I am throwing out clean oil!! But I know if I want it to remain clean I have to change it consistently. The dealership says a re-maned of crate motor will need to be installed.

They are covering it 100%, and only providing a rental for 5 days? Consider yourself lucky, take the rental and run.

While you have the rental/loaner, be sure to "Day'* of Thunder" it. LOL.
