1999 chevy 5.7 p0174 and running terrible
hey, I have a 1997 chevy 5.7 that is throwing a p0174 I read the code and it came up as lean condition on bank two, well I got under the hood and was messing around so I started checking out bank two I found that cylinder number two was not firing at all or very little (sprayed water on the manifold and it took minutes to evaporate on cylinder number two all other cylinders seem to functioning perfect, s0 I checked for spark and it is good, then I checked compression and it showed 150 psi which is good, the spark plug was awful wet. when the truck is running you can tell it has a dead miss on that cylinder and you can hear it pop in the exhaust randomly like it is firing occasionally. I did all the scan test on the o2 sensors they are functioning properly and and checked for vacumn leaks using propane and carb spray and didn't find anything, im lost I was thinking it could possibly be a bad injector on that cylinder, any help would be much appreciated!

The original style injector are terrible and cause lean codes and idling rough. If it still has the original poppet style injectors I suggest replacing it with the updated injector spider. The updated version has the injector near the bottom of the tube.

Mine runs a million times better now that I put that on it. If you plan on keeping the truck a while I would put lower intake gaskets on it too, that is the other extremely common problem on the vortec
