Default 2015 GMC incorrect fluid level from dealer

Hello ,

Has anyone experienced the incorrect fluid level new from dealer.

I just bought a brand New 2015 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 and all the fluids seem to be incorrect.

Coolant was way past cold when the truck was cold. I took out a almost liter and still above cold.

Oil is over fill past the xxx above maybe 3 to 4 mm above.

Transmission is low on cold , I drove for 10min to check engine while idling.
Went through the gears first before check and fluid is low when hot.

I took it to the dealer and he said everything is fine, I don't get it??

He said when you check the transmission fluid the engine should be off??
and I check manual and it said it should be running.

I also bought a New 2014 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 earlier this years and coolant was ALSO full to the top of the reservoir and I had to take some out. oil was ok though transmission am still not sure, I have to check again.

Thanks let me know

Whoever does the delivery inspections at the dealer isn't doing the job. From what your saying the dealer just doesn't care. Id find another dealer to check the vehicle over again.

If they balk, threaten them with the return of the vehicle. Corporate really doesn't like to see brand new vehicles returned.

those guys all work on flat rate i imagine, quantity not quality in all aspects of dealer level work. i had a dodge i bought new and actually had the manager say he dont have time to do the little things, when they let it go with a flat tire after i specifically told the service writer to look at it. im sure by his tone he just wanted me out and wasnt even going to say any thing to the tech. i never take my vehicles back to the dealer anymore, even if they offer free oil changes or any of that its not worth that level of service.

Most things that need taken care of is the sales dept. problem. Its the salesman job to make sure the vehicle is ready for the customer. If any problems arise after the sale, the salesman again is plays a part. That'* how it works at my dealership. Repeat customers and word of mouth is important. Id take it up with your saleman. 40 grand truck you shouldn't be having to worry about working on it already.

I agree with the guys.......maybe there is a screwup in the dealership......his ways have to be amended or shown the door......if you don't complain, nothing ever gets changed.....but by complaining, I don't mean make a scene....just take the SM aside and tell him your "concerns"....

Had the recall and oil change done on the HHR for the wife at the dealership......I go though an inspection, every time, before leaving....usually have no problems....this last time I did.....

I had the SM come out......showed him the plastic cover on the steering column was not snapped completely together from recall......showed him tire pressures were too high.....showed him where oil was spilled on engine and no attempt to clean it......showed him the mileage on the oil sticker was wrong.....told him I check my vehicle every time before I leave, and this was the first time I ever noticed problems......the vehicle was brought back in....everything was fixed except for the oil spill......I went back to the SM and said, I take my vehicle here for service all the time, but if you can't do a simple oil change and clean up a mess when you make it, then I will take my vehicle elsewhere.....I then told him, I am not trying to be a hard ***, but things are happening in your service department that you are not aware of, because obviously, people don't normally check their own vehicles out....I do....and I told him I'm sure that in his position, he would want to know when there are problems in his service department, that he is not aware of.....

The oil was cleaned up.....and my next Dexos oil change is free....

PDI'*, are an important part of a dealership......techs get paid good money for doing a very simple job......but there are guys that take shortcuts.......if you ever buy a car, and you notice that the clock in the vehicle is not set to the right time, that is a quick giveaway, that this vehicle was not properly checked over.....there is a list of what the techs have to do......it is long and sometimes, you might think that it can't be all checked out, but it can.......can you imagine some one buying a brand new vehicle, and the first time they turn on their AC, it doesn't work? Have seen it happen.....have seen the cruise not work......various options not work......some salesmen are the worse too....have seen them just sell the car, and not go though all the options.....I remember when the last new models of the LeSabre/PA'* came out, they didn't know where the battery was.....When the Solstice came out, they couldn't show the customer where the spare was, because it had none....synching a Bluetooth phone to the radio? Forgetaboutit......how to use the first built in GPS units? Yeah right....
