2012 GMC Acadia Camshaft Position Sensor replacement

Hello,

So I've had a ODB-II touble code of P0340. I need to replace the two Intake Camshaft Position Sensors. I easily replaced the sensor in bank 2 a couple weeks ago when replacing my spark plugs and ignition coils, had the exahaust intake manifold off for that so very easy to get to. The sensor in bank 1 I could not reach so I took the gamble and said maybe the CMP in bank 2 towards the bank of the compartment was the faulty sensor causing the code... Well, it's not, still getting the code after clearing the ODB-II faults. The problem is access to the Sensor in 2. It's underneath the big coolant hose coming out of the top of the engine and the sensor is also "sandwiched" in between the engine, of course, and the bracket that holds the power steering fluid reservoir. It also looks like the motor mount could be in they way. Also, it looks like i might want to remove the fuse box to get some room to work. It seems like enough work to get to that sensor that I better ask for advice first, haha. Has anyone had to replace the Camshaft Intake Sensors before? Before I start removing stuff I wanted to see if anyone had and opinion of how to do this... Can't find any youtube videos or post in other forums about the process...

Much Appreciated.

geeeesh... I got mixed up. I have replaced the CMP in bank 1 towards the back of the engine compartment. I'm asking about replacing the CMP in bank 2 towards the front.

I just finished up a while ago. I did end up disconnecting the battery, removed the fuse box and the fuse box tray. Then I disconnected and removed the power steering fluid reservoir bracket. I used tape to keep the electrical lines back and then disconnected the coolant line that run out of the top middle of the engine. From there I removed the engine mount and mounting bracket. I was then able to easily replace the intake camshaft sensor on bank 2. After reassembly of all the parts I cleared the codes and went for a drive. As of now there is no loss of power or sluggishness and the engine light did not come on however, now the vehicle is showing "Service Stabilitrack" and "Service Traction Control" and the TC is off... But so far it's driving fine... Now on to this Stabilitrack issue :-)

Back up and look at what you did and see what you may have done that effected the Stabilitrack.......fuse block or ground maybe?

check to see if the connector for the right front wheel speed sensor harness became disconnected. It's a 2 wire connector taped to the harness just to the rear of the water outlet.Just a thought.

The Stabilitrak error could be residual from the other issues. It might clear after driving it a few times.
