Default 2011 Denali 2500HD

Loud road type noise, driver side front. The truck was in the shop for 3 weeks and no answer about the noise. Does anyone else have a noise on the left front side of their truck???? Its terrible. One dealer said all these trucks have the noise, another dealer said no other truck they drove had the noise this truck has. Any help would be great.

It could be a noisy wheel bearing, or a broken belt in the tire. Does it appear to have any unusual wearing?

i agree with the tires. try rotating the tire to the back and see if the noise follows. you would hope the wheel bearings wouldnt be bad already but could have been a manufacturing defect. how many miles?

Does the noise get worse when turning to the right?

I drive a 2011 Sierra and I've never experienced anything like that.

It does not change while turning, the first thing I did was have the tires rotated. No change. I took it to the dealer, they (said) they took a new truck off the lot, swaped the front hub and axle, with no change. They had it for 2 weeks, then they sent it to another one of their shops in another town that had more experiance with the duramax 2500hd. The first dealer said no other of their trucks made that noise, the other shop said all of their other trucks made the same noise. One change it makes, it gets a little noiser going down hill, that would suggest to me it was a bearing. The right side does not make the same noise, I have another 2003 2500hd duramax with 317000 miles on it so I know how they should sound, my new truck had 10000 miles on it.

Does it sound any different while braking? Do you get any vibrations through the steering wheel?

Jack the front left tire off the ground, and see if there is any play when you grab the wheel at 12:00 and 6:00, and again when you grab it at 3:00 and 9:00. You would think if it was a bearing the dealership would be able to determine that pretty easily.

If all else fails, you may be a candidate for a buy back.

Does it get louder when you increase your speed?
