Default fuel leak

hi, i discovered that i have a fuel leak on the top of the fuel tank. it looks like it is coming from the middle hose where it attaches to the fuel pump module. but when i push on the lines (with a stick) all 3 are still connected. so i guess dropping the tank will be my next move. one thing i am not understanding is why there are 3 lines. there needs to be a pressure line going forward, and a return line coming back. but what is the 3rd line for?
