Hey guys new to this site, thought someone here could help me. I was going to replace the fuel filter the other day and cranked on it a bit and instantly the rear line cracked a tiny bit because of the lovely rust where the bracket holds the line in.

Just curious of how to disconnect this rear line from the tank? If its easy great, do I need any special connectors? I just don't want to get stuck in my driveway and not be able to fix this baby and have to get it to a shop. I'm very mechanically inclined just don't want to begin if its a Bi***

gm used a few different styles, it should be plastic though right? most of those you push it toward the tank squeeze the tabs with pliers and pull it off. they make a tool but i never really found the need. if you could post a pic to see and make sure im giving you the right info. also theres o rings in there that are alright till you move them and alot of times they leak after that. my local carquest makes them though.

Yep its either set up like that or just the normal ole style like mine where it comes out of the sending unit then points down over the the side of the tank toward the frame rail..Connecting via a screw type fitting

So I can get some basic line don't need anything special?

dont know what you mean by basic. the metal line gm uses have metric ends. the plastic you can take out and have another one made. which is yours?

well....connecting to the fuel filter is a metal fitting, no plastic fittings...not sure about the one connecting to the tank, thats why I ask.
