That'* what I was thinking. Was watching Gearz the other day and they said 2.5" is what you want for singles OR duals for a motor with 250+ HP.
If I replace the muff and get headers I'll be close to 350.

you should think about getting your own HPT. you can program out the downstream o2'* and get rid of the cat altogether. you may need to adjust it when you start changing stuff around anyway. you are also going to have to do something with the evap vent valve, you could remote mount it or if you had hpt you could shut it off.

Like I said though, the headers come with all the needed emissions stuff. The only thing I have to do is relocate the factory cats or buy some new ones.

I say do the setup you were thinking of with the true duals. It all also depends on how loud you want it. We put a 4" single ss pipe and high flow cats, high flow muffler on my uncles 2500 HD, and you can hear it over 5 miles away in the country. It gained power and torque from that, granted the stock system was junk and had the engine at 30% load at idle, but it'* loud and doesn't take much to get a headache from it. It sure sounds good though..but try to explain that to your neighbors when you start it up in the morning lol.
As far as relocating your cats, you might need some o2 sensor extensions if you don't tune them out. Better make sure they're included in that kit.

could always do it the redneck way... program out the cats and just hollow out their shells. in indiana they put you on the obd2 while you are over a pit with someone inspecting your **** from underneath. its a royal pita. and if you have a diesel they make you do that plus run on the rollers.

If you watch that video, that'* the perfect loudness.
The more I think about it, the less I'm wanting to do true duals. That'* a lot of money for a motor that'* not going to be used for racing. I mean I eventually want to take apart the engine to port and polish everything, but until then an exhaust that flows THAT well just isn't worth it. I'm not gonna run forced induction of any kind, and all of my engine mods will be to increase MPG and if HP goes up too, awesome.

The number 1 reason why I don't want to leave Nebraska: no Emission inspections west of lincoln if that far..That'* about the only reason why I'd stay in this state

even indiana doesnt have them except for porter and lake counties. (the ones on the lake) shelby county where memphis is has to but the rest of the area doesn't. and according to lauren birmingham never made her do emissions tests or anything like that.
