2005 Suburban front end feeling like a death wobble
A friends 2005 Surburban was having a front end"death wobble". We did a visual inspection and saw a problem on the inner tie rod/ right side. Replaced the tie rod and idler arm. Problem did not go away.....
Ended up being a failed u-jount on the end of the drive shaft. It was so bad, it made the front end shake violently. I wish I would of caught rather than jump on the inner tie rod. I saw the wear on the tie rod, but when I tried to move the tie rod it was solid, I missed the sign that I was looking in the wrong place.
Lesson learned- a bad drive shaft u-joint can give the fron end a death wobble feeling.
