15 Yukon Denali Struts
 

So I took my truck in for an alignment after dealing with some bad tires i got last year from GMC. When I picked up my truck I was notified that my two front absorbers/strut was leaking and they needed to be replaced. My thought as I know I just turned past 50k how in the hell is that possible? As I look across forums it seems as if this is normal. I think to myself I know this is going to be expensive and know I'm putting it in the shop tomorrow to get it fixed. I'm not too overly worried about it because my warranty covers issues until 100k but what happens after I hit 100k. I'm stuck paying for these expensive absorbers every 30k-50k. I will see if they have came out with a better version of them because I know that can not be acceptable.

This truck has been nothing but problems since day one and I can't believe something that cost so much has this many issues.

You have the right to have the mechanic show you where they are leaking BEFORE they do ANY kind of work. If they balk at letting you look or say insurance doesn't allow you in the shop, tell them to take it off the rack and go elsewhere.

If they are leaking(and they do) go ahead and get them replaced.

The dealership finally finished the truck today and the price tag was $1738. I looked at the absorbers and 1 was leaking so i had both replaced. My take is if i did not have an extended warranty that was paying for it I would have done this in the garage. The dealership charged $400 more for the parts than I could find online shipped OE.
