Hi il got an 03 escalde esv and since all these odometers must have been made by F**-D they broke down one by one ,, i have solderd mine a couple of times but finaly il orderd a complete new cluster ,, and the seller of this unit did ask for my readings of my odometer in the cluster and it shoud have been programed into the new once before sent to me in sweden ,, i recived if tonight and installed it yust to find out "WOOOW" my truck is even moore new then it was when il bought it ,,, the meter says ZERO miles or km since this is a Km/h cluster , ,, i contacted the seller and he was supriced . this was a special order since the stock version is a MPH unit but that shoudent been any diffrance , they shoud have programed the cluster before sending it away ,,

so now il got a smaller problem ,, i can always explaine why the meter is as it is now when il shall go to the inspections the upcomming week and odometer fraud isent a big problem here in sweden ,, its not in anyway accepted but you want find any carfax reports about it thrue any register but for my own sake i would like to adjust it to the real numbers , il maild my salesperson and he says it can be done by the TECH 2 ,, and il got me a tech 2 but hasent seen this option in any lines ,, i cant either say iv been looking after it either so if its there i will propebly find it but you dont find it if you not looking for it , has anyone done this by an tech 2 earlyer ? can someone talk me thrue where/what and are theres some DONT´* and DO´* ?

Why can't you send it back and have them program it?

i bought it from US and i live in sweden ,, simply costs and time .. to send it back to US will cost me and i can only hope i wont get damage in the handling , and if all goes well and no troubble accours it will propebly take at least 3 weeks totaly ,then when it reenter sweden once again i will have to pay swedish taxes and customs again ,, total costs with shipment SWEDEN-US , US -SWEDEN and customs and taxes will be about $400 .. THATS a good reason why i would like to program it my self

Not to get side tracked, but you have to pay taxes on it AGAIN? Even though you already paid taxes? Nice country.

There is no telling what might be going on. You could have a cheap rebuilt cluster that'* a fake and probably doesn't work right. Hence, probably it wasn't programmed to begin with.

well welcome to sweden acculy il think it was our old king gustav wasa (B 1496 - D 1560 ) who started this **** (taxes) .. thats propebly why we (they) are as skilled about them ,,

and one of the worst things you can do is stealing money from the goverment , yust look at the punisments you get for ex a rape or if you dosent pay your taxes ,,, all moneystealing chrimes from the goverment punishes mutch harder and thats SICK

BUT in the name of thruth i CAN in theori send it back and ask for promission by the customs to return it for free ,, it named "aktiv förädling" active processing but the paperworks are costly and takes aloth of time to get approved ,, its made for companyes with companions in diffrent countrys not for a private person

but even if i can get it send without paying new customs the total will be in the same scale with the shipment and cost for using active processing

well il bought the cluster from kenneth at Norfolk Buick | Chesapeake, Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach | Perry Buick and it is brand new , its an updated model from the one il got and it came in vaccum plastic bag with all gm aproval and dealers notes etc so im 110% shore everything is as it shoud be .. exept the programing . i thrust perrybuick all the way .. and i shall take my vehicle information

do you have a dealer you can call, closer than the us? i dont think just any tech 2 can do it, we had a 06 at work that needed a new cluster and we had to wait for it for 3 or 4 days, i think they said they had to have it programed. i think if you can just keep note of what was on the old one to add that to the new one thats what i would do. and anyone that knows these vehicles knows the cluster are a primary weak spot

well of course we got swedish dealers who can handle this but you wont belive what they charge you for this in sweden ,,, yust to re-program the cluster they ask for MOORE money then il payed for the complete cluster inc shipment , tax , customs
