Well, made it home! I've got some work to do tonight, but first a quick supper. I've got to sop up all the fluids on the engine so I can check tomorrow to see if anything is leaking. Coolant reservoir was empty when I got back and I started smelling coolant when I got closer to home, hopefully it was still burning off the coolant I sloshed all over. Luckily I have everything I need for an oil change, so I'll take care of that tonight. Get everything ordered and hope it arrives soon enough to make it to Rockstar'* garage Saturday.

I have to commend Dan for his excellent work, especially considering the conditions (what a time to run out of fuel for the heater). Had a few minor issues as he mentioned, but he got everything put back together, (between a few swear words). Thanks ALOT!

My biggest issue now is my tensioner. The bolt was in pretty bad shape when I showed up, and it didn't make it through the struggle, so I'm going to have to either find a way to remove the bolt with a stripped head, or find a new tensioner (which is what I'm leaning towards if it'* not to expensive).

Oh, and as for the hood clearance, the cloth only has 2-3 little marks on it from being opened and shut a few times. It looks like it won't be an issue as long as I can reroute everything off the supercharger. A hood scoop is still not out of the question though...

Wish I had a spare tensioner here, but that'* one of the few things I don't have on hand. The only place you would have a coolant leak it at the thermostat housing. I looked real close and didn't see any fuel leaks. But that'* what you need to watch for. Also check the coolant level. How did the engine temp do after we talked on the phone.

I think if you run the vacuum liens and the plug wires under the supercharger it should be fine. You have those huge 10mm wires, that'* a lot of bulk, that'* about 3/8" right there.

I filled it again from the radiator cap, it didn't take a whole lot more, but I burped it twice and it went back to normal which is about 190. Also started blowing heat through the vents! I was very thankful for that. I left the climate control on 90 and the heated seat on high the whole way back, I've never been more appreciative of that seat.

The problem is the heater core is the highest part of the cooling system. So that'* where the air is. Going to take a while to clear that out.

Off topic, but thought you might find this interesting Dan.

**Edit
Well, maybe not. Guess I can't post that link. Anyways, it has information linking DEX to Gasket failure, they went very in depth. Shows how it changes the gaskets and everything.

I'm sure I know what URL your talking about. If it is, that person went in to that with a result already determined. Not good science. Some of us took it further and found the same results with green coolant and the old design gasket. We've also found new gasket design with dex and no degrade.

Uh oh, fresh oil drip.

Some here (this may have been spilt, not leaked)

This is what I was smelling, got my oil and coolant smell mixed up.

Checked the oil, it'* still got plenty, about 3/4 up the marked part of the dipstick still so it must be a slow leak. I added a half quart to be safe, decided to wait on the oil change till I figure out what is leaking. Any ideas?

Filled the radiator and coolant reservoir back up, we will see if it leaks back out tomorrow, but I didn't really see any leaking coolant. Looked the thermostat housing over pretty good, I don't think it'* leaking.

Got everything ordered, found my tensioner at rock auto pretty cheap with the 5% discount. $14 2nd day delivery is not bad either, although it'* a non stock item so it may take 5 days to get in. Worst comes to worst, I'll limp to Dixon this weekend to get the IC pump re-situated and hooked up, fix all leaks, re-route the vacuum hoses and all the other wires. Then I'll just swap the tensioner in my garage whenever it arrives and slap a belt on it. Then it'* time for a little

We did nothing that involves oil. Unless it'* leaking from the rubber seal along the cam valley. I used plenty of RTV there. Valve covers are a possibility, we were working around them a lot and might have caused one to leak.
