Default Looking for a tech II in Michigan

As many of you know, we are having some problems with the '03. Two seperate problems actually. 1st being either O2 sensor or bad cat ( not plugged though ) 2nd problem is either steering wheel position sensor, yaw rate sensor, accellerometer...... not really sure.

Here is a link about the problems with the car http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=82810

So, we checked around here and found that the cheapest to hook a tech II up to our car we can find is about $80.

Is there anyone in Michigan that ownes one, or has cheap access to one? I am thinking that if there is, we could drive out, do a mini meet, get our car looked at and hopefully come in at around the same price as the stealerships want around here.

So, basically what I am looking for is someone in Michigan with a Tech II scanner or access to one, that could scan our car and clear codes for free or cheap.

We would really appreciate any help here. Thank you.

It'* gonna be quite hard to come across a Tech II. I am not sure if there are any MI members here that work for a repair shop that has one. I do know of a few in Ohio, but you don't wanna drive that far.

Do you have a credit card with a high limit? I buy Tech 2'* off EBay for good prices and then simply resell them on EBay when I'm done. It'* a little bit of a hassle, but I've broken even on the first Tech 2 I bought and I think I'll make a few hundred on this next one. Considering that I would have had to make an appointment at the dealer, waste my time, etc, I think it'* something to consider.

huh, I guess that is not a bad idea at all, never thought of that

How much do they typically cost? I see that you said a high limit card, so I might not be able to go that route because we are trying to get rid of all of our cards right now.

I don't have a Tech II, but I do have an AutoEnginuity Scanner. It can read what your O2 is doing, and may or may not be able to pull up information on the stability system problem. Their site says it does all kinds of things like that, but when checking with them...found it didn't support ABS system on a '99 GP or airbag on '98 Chevy Venture Van. So, somethings I don't know if it will work until I try it. I'm on vacation now in the Stanton/Greenville area.

About 2.5 hours. Maybe 3 depending on how fast you drive.

Yeah, not exactly a trip around the corner. I'm near the Kent/Montcalm county line.

eh, it would probably be worth a shot.

How much would ya charge to hook it up? Is there any way you could check it out on your car and see if you can see anything with the stability system?\
