this is why bonne owners should never do cam sensors
 

i recently did the cam sensor on my 92 bonne and had the worst time getting it apart the engine mount blocks you from removing the water pump and the mount is torqued too much that its imposible to break it off by anything but an impact wrech then the other difficult part is the crannkshat bolt was over tightened as well and you also need to remove the bellhousing sheild to jam a screwdriver into the flywheel to stop the crak from rotating while you break the bolt loose that is near imposible but as sson as you have those two parts removed removing the timing chain cover, water pump, oil pan and other plastic sheilds is a breeze and not difficult at all wut took me three days (5 hours a day) to break down took me bout 6 hours to put back together

i have pics of the bout 40 bolts removed and all the parts removed i remind you that the only problem i had was the magnet thats placed on the cam gear
an 8 dollar magnet turned out to be around a 110 dollar project and lots of experience

been there, done that, except i think ours was $150 because the aluminum cracked on the water pump.

did you happen to replace the chain and stuff while you were in there?

yes i replaced the chain and the two gears. suprisingly all you do is match dots on either gears and then slide them on over the woodruff keys. and aligining the crankshaft sensor was actually easy and did not need a special tool to align

new parts list: timing chain, crank gear, cam gear, harmonic balancer/crank pulley, and all new gaskets

Looks like im gonna pass on that project, to much for lol

dont pass it up if you got about 150000 miles or less on that odometer then its worth it

i noticed that my car ran a lot more rough and hesitated at first from a dead stop it would even die at times after it warmed up and it alos ran warmer but symptoms can be different for anyone else because my car is one of the few bonne thats egrless, has delco ignition and a solid aluminum intake/plenum. dang 1992 experimental bonnes

oh and of course that dieing and sputtering stop after i spent that 120 dollars

lol i still love my bonne though

i recently changed the broken fogs to hella optilux 2500 angel eyes definetly worth that as well
