Default HELP! Did I hit him?

After school I was coming home. I was in the right lane, and I was going about 30. Traffic in the left lane was going about 15, so some ****** in a Honda Accord decides he wants to pull around them. He swirves into my lane without even looking, I lock up my brakes and swirve, jump the curb. He looks like he went to my school, but I don't know. As he pulls away I see a dent and a bunch of scratches on his door, where I would have hit him.. but the dent is high up by the window, and my car is low. The thing is, I don't know if I hit him or not. I was too busy saving my car and my adrenaline was going too much to even notice if I hit him. He kept driving down the road, then he turned into a Kohl'* parking lot about a block or two later but he didn't look like he was even stopping, he kept going. I kept going also, is this considered a hit and run? My car isn't scratched or dented in the least bit, that'* why I don't know whether I hit him or not. I think I'd have some of his paint on my car if I did. I have his license plate number if needed, but I'm not going to go running off calling the cops. I just got into an accident AT THE SAME EXACT INTERSECTION about 2 weeks ago, and I got a 4 point ticket, which if I don't take it to court I lose my license. My logic tells me that I did hit him, but my car isn't the least bit touched. What do you think?

The last thing I want to do is call the cops. I'm 17 and I have a HORRIBLE driving record:

9/27/2002: Ticket for Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed
9/27/2002: Lost control of my Thunderbird going about 80mph, swirved into a ditch, rolled it twice, started it on fire.
9/26/2003: Ticket for Inattentive Driving(which I'm taking to court)

And then today'* incident. I could have almost swore I hit him, but I don't have any dents or his paint on my car, my bumper and hood are both aligned fine. If I did hit him, and someone wrote down my license plates.. I'm screwed. Any insight?

Wow...that'* quite a story ...but I (for whatever it'* worth) don't think you hit him. I have been hit very lightly before in parking lots and I always had paint from their car left on my bumper...I don't think you could do that much damage without knowing it or it leaving any scar on your car (Bonnie'* bumpers are not well known for withstanding an impact...even fairly low speed).

My uneducated guess is that he is a moron who has done exactly what he did to you before, and has the battle scars to prove it. :P

First of all, stop confessing all over the place about your prior record. Whatever you say on the Internet stays out there forever. Second, he cut you off in traffic, then he took off. You are not the hit-and-run party here. Third, you have his license plate; he probably does not have yours, if for no other reason than that you were never in front of him. Fourth, you have no damage to your car, so he couldn't have any paint of yours on his.

So don't worry about it. Just wear your seat belt and drive carefully...

Nothing, I looked everywhere for green paint or any dents/scratches, didn't find any.

From what it sounds like, I think he had that damage before.

I'm not too much older than you, and I experience everyday how teenagers drive. You never know what can happen. So just be very careful when on the road, especially around school.

Well it looks like I didn't hit him, but my right front tire is majorly screwed from hitting that curb. It has about 5 or 6 bulge spots on it.. but my alignment isn't off. I'm mounting my new tires tomorrow anyways, if I didn't have new tires already I'd be pretty pissed.

The idiot in the Accord probablt got that damage from another one of his stupid driving incidents. I wouldn't worry about it.

Wouldn't he have hit YOU since you were in the right lane and he swirved into your lane anyway? If you had damage I'd report his plates since he took off. But since you didn't just take it as a warning and watch out for those losers on the roads. Don't get your Bonne totalled because of some dumba$$. We've heard too many stories and seen the pics.
