I need someone who knows bout this stuff
Also i have a question i have a 1997 buick park avenue and my engine blew up i took a engine out of a 1997 pontiac bonneville and it runs great only thing is every now and then the car shuts off for no reason and i got it scanned wit the snap on scanner and no codes come up the shop told me it may be my computer not knowing what to do can anyone help

You may check the ground since my old 96 had that problem, it would shut off at anytime and after about 20 min would restart. The dealer finally found the problem on the drivers side under the dash. after replacing the fuel pump 2 times.

Does it tend to do this more cold?
or hot as well ?
If so try pouring some hot water on the coil pack then start ..
My century did this we changed everything then tried that trick only to have it start right up.

First thing I would consider is checking all connections and cables. Battery cables at both ends. A large project like this can have a oopsie or two where something wasn't tightened fully.

Was the harness @ the firewall disconnected? That was causing a no-start condition on my swap as the connector was slightly off-kilter when reinstalled.
Also, check your sensor grounds. They should be at the bottom of the ICM, on a stud that goes through the cylinder head.
