Default '89 Bonne LE - Should I hit it?

Not quite what I asked God to deliver, but it'* a possibility It'* silver with grey cloth (probably cloth; I think that'* what she said...), with 64k miles on it. An LE, unfortunately, but the unknowledgeable lady said it had spoke wheels? Are those 15-inchers? Anyways, getting ahead of myself. My two main questions are as follows: How different from my current car is it (I know there'* the body change, but what else?), and what should I keep in mind in the way of potential problems and pitfalls while looking at the car? I mean, what would it be like switching from my '93 SE to an '89 LE? What are the performance and handling differences, anyway? I know quite a bit about the '92-'99s, but not much about the '87-'91 generation of our beloved Bonnes. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks again in advance for all the help!

Only 64k? That is unbeleivable. You should talk to the seller and see all the repairs (if available) that have been done to the car. The biggest (and probably most costly) downfall seems to be the transmission. Mine went at 130,000k so I think you should be in the clear for quite some time. I'm not sure how much of a performance wise difference you will notice, since there is only a 5HP difference between the LN3 and the L27.

How much are they asking if you don't mind me asking?

Yer, her'* is a '91 SSE. As is mine.

That mileage is crazy low, my neighbour has an '87 LE (LG3) with about that mileage. It has an exhaust leak so it sounds rough and raspy, but damn, it runs nice 'n' smooth.

The Vin C LN3 motor is good stuff, if you want something like the L27'* rock solid reliability, you can't go wrong with an LN3. As for common issues, you're probably going to have to look for the same things as you would on an L27.

the 87-91 Bonnevilles are probably the best built, most reliable years for the bonneville. The 92+ are all quicker and more agile in their driving, but the 89 would still be a great car! You really can't go wrong with one. They're cheap to maintain, and are reliable.

I think they're asking $1950. Way too high, obviously. I'm pretty sure that'* what they're asking, anyway; don't have the Classifieds handy...

Price doesn't sound bad to me.

IMO, the LN3 is the BEST 3800 ever produced. They're rock solid, die hards. I wouldn't overlook that car.
