Whats the difference

What is the difference between a series I and a series II?

willwren 10-19-2003 04:42 PM

In general terms......different valve sequence, slightly different heads, intake (upper/lower), compression ratio, etc. Fairly minor, actually. Except 35 more hp in the Series 2.

Don always saves me ;)

That's called teamwork!

how do i know the difference on what my bonnie is?

Jim W 10-19-2003 10:16 PM

You have a Series I engine...so all that stuff we talked about...under Series I, that what you have. 170 HP and 225 TQ 8)

Your car is a 92 right? or 93?

ssesc93 10-19-2003 11:17 PM

Looks like a 92 to me.

Ryan2Dope 10-20-2003 12:09 AM

Its a 93'.

willwren 10-20-2003 12:34 AM

Only the 92 and 93 SE had that grille. Lucky for you, it's a 93. The 92 had no EGR valve, and has a tendency to burn valves.......all the more reason to put in a 180 thermostat!

The blue engine details are cool. Very nice and tastefully done. Everyone should check out your cardomain page. You just need the blue Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires to finish that off!

Put your year and model in your signature (profile link at the top right corner of this page). It'll help us alot.
