how do the suspensions hold up? I'm aware of most of the other problems that come with higher miliage.

They hold up pretty well. We've had a couple of problems with the rear shock mount (yep, rear shocks - not struts) going bad and some with the spring isolator on the front strut. The biggest complaint that may have a few causes, as no one has had a complete fix is that some of the cars have a vibration at highway speeds.

The highest mileage on that generation that I'm aware of is Pdad/Pmom. I know they've had bad hubs, and I helped Pdad replace his endlinks. Other than that, I'm not sure on theirs.

we have 138,000 and i have not had to touch the rear suspension, replaced 2 tie rod ends and both wheel hubs up front. its not the suspension but we also had to replace both half shafts. not to bad for the miles we have. the cost per mile is real low in my book.

Im at 148,000 and I am experiencing some bad parts in the rear that i will have to get looked at. Is it terribly bad to the point i cant drive? no its just something i want fixed since Im going to take this car over 200,000 miles, Hopefully. So untill i have someone look at it, Im not sure what the exact problem is. Just some vibrations and a back end that likes to bounce when its not warmed up.

The 00 SLE is getting to be quite bouncy especially at high speeds on the highway as of late, but the SSEi still rides pretty good. Both have the noisy shock mounts though in the rear right now. It'* annoying.
