Default What size are my front door speakers

I just got my 97 SSE and I am going to put a stereo in it, but I need to know what size the speakers are in the front doors. The books say 4x6 but I have the Bose system so I dont know what would be in there. It looks like a component set. I was hoping I could find out without taking the door panel off,
Thanks,
Dave

The uplevel systems have round 5 1/4 speakers in the front along with separate tweeters. Base systems just have 4x6 plates.

Hooooold on a sec, You got the BOSE system and are going to upgrade it? Unless you go HIGH Quality speakers and i'm talking like Polk Momo and up you aren't going to have any better sound at all. The bose are exceptional speakers and perform extremely well.

The better question to ask yourself is how big of speakers can I fit in my doors. And I believe 6 1/2" components is possible. I havent taken the time to measure the depth possible but I plan on putting Dynamat Extreme on top of the factory sound proofing to help with the sound reproduction in the doors.

On a similar note, I discovered that my rear tweeters in my '95 SSE were bad. I decided that 3.5" replacements would sound nice, so I bought a pair of 3.5" Infinity Reference 2-ways.

I needed to remove large amounts of the mounting bracket (underneath the grill) to get the speakers to fit. Everything went back together well. The mounting depth is just a tad shallow for the speakers, so the grills stick up a little bit. However, it isn't noticeable unless I point it out. Everything sounds MUCH better, so I can tolerate an almost imperceptible deformity. :?
