Wired or Wireless connect MDI Question
Hi guys new guy here. Been a GM master tech for a little over 20 years now. Consider myself at the top of my game. However my success has been based on always remembering you don't know everything get help and remember shortcuts.
Here is my dilemma. I have been using my MDI with my laptop for years now. The usual USB connect is so flimsy I always have a fear that I will damage the MDI'* connection. I REALLY want to use the Ethernet cable to connect due to its substantially more rugged connection. my problem is I have tried endlessly to get this to connect to my laptop and have failed miserably. I am very computer savvy so it frustrates me to no end. I have only seen a couple YouTube vids that describe its use and they did not work. I can not use the wireless as it is used to connect to TIS2Web but I do have the open Ethernet port. I have gone through the install manual from the MDI module, GM'* SI, Bosch'* guide, etc. Anyone that could get this little bugger connected for me I will owe them one. That is not thrown out ***** nilly either. I will give them assistance or other form of payback it means that much to me.
Thank you ahead of time
Danny
