Default Custom Air Intake

hey ..tomorrows project for me is an intake and i was wondering if 3" pvc piping would work ?? and what size cone filter i will need..or the part number if anyone has it. ..i'm gonna take off the whole airbox and everything and just have a short piece of 3" pipe connected to a cone k&n air filter. ..it'* pretty simple, right?

I am also working on a custom intake (still in design stages). I was thinking of making mine out of EMT (Metal piping) and putting a rectangular K&N filter in a custom box at a 45* angle for maximum effect...its real complicated ill make my own post lol...

EDIT: If you use PVC try and find someone that has a heat box so you can get the cone closer to the headlight by bending the PVC that way its all one peice (joints = weight and turbulance) An electrical contractor or plumber may be able to help you out and if you use EMT try and find a bender for the same reasons.

Try going to an exhaust shop and see if they can mandrel bend some steel pipe for you. Measure out how much you need first. I did this, cost me 18$ and change.

Well, Pete, my car may roar a bit more then yours. My exhaust is a bit more rumbly then what you have. So, with the intake it will make a HUGE differemce. Take out your resonator and add a high flow cat and we'll have the same sounding car

If you want an idea what it will sound like just grab a cone and stick it on. You'll get a good idea of the sounds it will make. It will make noise like a monster either way.
