what is the factory tint grade for my bonneville?

im thinking somewhere around 95%

Technically speaking, it's not considered a visible tint other than the sunroof which is probably 90-95.

The side windows are only coated for UV, not visible.

Just from what I could see, there really isnt any tint on your windows. Like will put, its only a Solar Glass UV coat.

yes but the UV coating has an effect on the total % of the tint. I remember Haro got pulled over because the aftermarket tint was in spec but the factory UV had an effect

i remember seeing a difference when my window is like halfway down. probably just the UV nonsense though

thx

so 50% tint was applied to factory windows and the police meter measured 39%?

(13:38:17) harofreak00: thats what mine tested
(13:38:37) my 1993 SLE: i posted your thread when you had 50 and got nailed for 39%

Most all Bonnevilles 92-99 Came out of the Factory with EZ Cool shaded glass... Makes a diffrence... I can see the diffrence with the windows open, But its not a lot... 17% sure does seem like the right number ;)

factory tint lets in 83% of light (100-17=83)

so 50% tint over 83% factory is actually 41.5%

20% tint over factory 85% = 16.6% for me
