In the first place, if I raced a cop, I wouldn't post it. Since your home state and city are listed here, your PD may open some heat if they ever get wind of this. YOU may not get in trouble, but you may cause a local cop or at least the department in general some trouble by posting this.

In the second place, I'm assuming your PD uses Crown Victorias, and I'm pretty darn sure if any cop WANTED to beat you with one, he could quite easily. These aren't stock production cars.

In the third place, there are some members here with law enforcement ties

I'd give it a shot, and I'm one of the guys with Law Enforcement ties (Over tens years as an Army MP). Only problem is, MPLS PD ain't the nicest bunch of guys I've ever met. And watching the news, I casn't blame 'em. MPLS is chock full of idiots...

I would. But none of the cops around here are cool enough to do that.

I was doing 119mph about 2 months ago and I saw the State Trooper sitting on the side until I passed him. I tried to mash on it some more because I knew he was going to get me. From a dead stand still he caught up with me. He had to be doing about 135.

It is never a good idea IMO...in law enforcement circles it is referred to as "offense of cop"...basically, most cops see it as their responsibility to set the pace for surrounding traffic (and I am getting this straight from the horses' mouths....the cops of the National Traffic Enforcement Association), so even if they are going slowly, many willl expect you to also (unless it is a situation where they are driving dramatically below the speed limit, as in the case of escorting a damaged car, etc).

Basically, they may not pull you over, but cops have looooooong memories, generally photographic ones at that, and it very well may bite you in the butt down the road (no pun intended :P ).

Just some friendly advice...my 2 cents....take with a grain of salt.

And how much did that ticket cost you?

I don't know. It was a court appearance. It was thrown out as well.

They threw out a 119 ticket? How did you manage that?
