starting/miss issue ( now code 43)
Well as some of you have seen in this topic http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=39925 the car went from Hero to zero in 887 kms. I replaced the engine and I also upgraded the ignition to the new Delco style with 97+SC coils on it. New plugs ( AC Delco) same wires ( MSD). It seems that when it is cold, it starts quicker than after you have driven it a bit. Meaning, it takes less cranks to start it when it has sat for a while and when it has been driven, it cranks over alot more before it actually catches and runs.
Also at idle, there is a noticeable miss, and sometimes while driving, when you are stopped at a light you can feel the miss more.
I was thinking that it was the fuel pressure regulator, but my buddy ( mechanic) was telling me that it would bog down while driving also if the regulator was going screwy. But this new engine HAS BALLS, even Renee says so. Plus we both think this car has a louder tone from the exhaust than the old one. It is great. I just put a bottle of fuel system treatment in it to see if it will help any. I was figuring that the injectors may be getting clogged from sitting. I mean it came from a 1988 Toronado, that was a sumer car and it only had 51,000 kms ( around 35,000 miles) on it.
Any thoughts on this??

Nope, no codes. I was thinking injectors. I will give it a few more days and let that treatment go through the system. Plus let more fuel run through and see what happens.

Mike if the problem does not get any better, take the old fuel rail with injectors from the 90 motor and install them on the 88...

I did have a slight miss with the blown engine also, so maybe I had a bad injector. it is possible that this new engine needs a good cleaning. I did get that pressure cleaning done on the car with the blown engine and it made no difference. So I wanted to just drive this one a bit before I try and fix it.

Find and squeeze this tab
While squeezing the tab, pull the cable out towards the firewall as in the pic below
To set it, simply take your hand and push down on the throttle( WOT ) you won't need an excessive amount of force... You'll hear it set...

HAHA I think you posted this in the wrong thread, but at least it was one of my threads, thanks.
I really don't remember seeing that tab that you are saying to push down on, ( in the first 2 pics), but the last 2 pics do look familiar. I can tell in the first 2 pics that it is located close to the rear of the engine, since I can see your EGR valve, now that looks familiar, lol. I will have a look when I get back in town on Thursday evening or Friday.
