Default Project SSE1990 ( more done to it)

Well I have an appointment to get the bonne checked out on Thursday. This will be the time to see if it lives or not.

Gonna start with a compression check then move to the mechanical part.

So far what I think needs to be fixed is this.
Blew somthing on the brakes hopefully just a line
Drivers side rear wheel bearing,
Brakes,
Shocks,
crank sensor ( I am guessing by the fact the car dies when it gets warm and needs to cool to start again.
Need to fix the mount for the emerg cabel under the car ( under the driver seat) it got ripped off somehow before I bought it.
new drivers side lock ( seized),
new power antennea.

That is what I have discovered without access to a lift, just spent a bit of time inspecting the car.

We will see next week what the final verdict is, I am gonna get it towed in on Thurday morning or wednesday night.

Also I haven't been online as much lately since I am on the road evry d@mn day adn only home on weekends. Just letting people know I am still alive.

Once we see what it takes for the bonnie to get on the road MY project will get started.
PROJECT LL69 ( lower, louder 69)
it'* a 1969 GMC pickup, fleetside, longbox.

I plan to lower it, swap the engine, install power steering, install power brakes, and make it look good. I may end up bagging it to get it even lower but let'* not go there yet.

Here is a pic of the first day out after 2 years of storage ( while I lived out of town and bought the bonne out of town.)

Here is just an idea for what it may look like, probably not the rims or color but gives you an idea.

Glad to hear you're getting your project going. Hopefully you won't find anymore things wrong with it once you get up inthe air. Being on the road alot is hard....well just not being home is hard. I know the feeling. I've been working double shifts at work until we get a new teacher trained to take of the night program classes.

I have to now download the pics I took today but I will take more in the morning, but I got pics of the car being hauled up onto the flatbed from a local towing company and hauled off to the garage.

I will be there around 8:30 am to see what the result is.

First thing compression test, then see what blew on brake system ( fluid will not stay in the resivoir so no brakes for me), then probably get the codes read, then the regualr safty check. Hopefully with labour it won't cost more than 2,000$CAD

I will post pictures tomorrow.

very nice,
I have a 1969, cherry red. I dont want to post pictures (It was in a mag, with my name and plates) You'll find a 99 silverado will be the best thing that happend to your truck, get a wrecked LT (leather) 2X4 99 silverado that was in a front end collisions (dont need that part)
Your truck looks pretty stright, I cant see any bondo waves, so I presume theres none there.
yea, everything off that silverado will fit in the truck, grab the 5.3 engine/ the box (if you want) seats/whole interior/all electrics(cd player/speakers)/wheels (6 bolt pattern)

What I did was I got my truck when I was like 11, and had it sitting around, then when I turned 14 I got my dad and I to rip it all apart. We took it back to orgional condision, and by that time I was 16. Drove the bag off it, then when I was 18 I went into it again... checker plate alumium box floor, (now box linered + vynil box cover) also I rebuilt the engine then, .20 over flat top pistons, 650 dubble pumper (maybe over carbed), alumium intake, heads, headers.

Then again 2 years ago I ripped into it again, spent major money on air bags (all 4 corners) 2.5'' drop spindles, 17'' cragers (instead of the 15'' cragers), 99 silverado seats/carpet/window motors/locks/steering wheel (no air bag)/ I put a plastic lining in the consol for an ice box (heh) /

I'm not sure on this, but You might even be able to take the rear axel out of the silverado. For sure the tranny.
Neatest thing you'll find about the rear is the messed up coils.. its almost like independent rear end, but you still have a solid axel (unless you wanna go corvette transaxel with a 4 link susp)... my buddys got that in his 39 chev.
