Default Drove a Turbo 04 GTP Comp G today - Updated Dyno results Pg2

Two fellows a friend and I often meet up with from Ottawa recently had turbos installed on their cars, both of them the Cartuning unit. One is a 2001 Grand Prix GT Coupe and the other is a 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. We met up with for breakfast this morning.

The GT has a non intercooled unit without any ceramic coating on the manifolds or turbo while the GTP Comp G has an Intercooler with ceramic coated collector and turbo.

I got to drive the GTP and let me tell, it was awesome!!! There is very little turbo lag and once spooled the thing just keeps pulling and pulling...well past burying the speedo . The shift into second and third is phenominal, the power drops off slightly as you approach redline, both cars have Torque Management enable for the shifts...and when you hit the next gear it puts you back in your seat.

Let me tell you, I could never own a turbo car because I would loose my driver'* license, despite only getting 2 tickets in 25 years!

Here'* a few pictures for your viewing pleasure;

Cheers,

There was an '04 GTP at MGM that was supercharged & turbocharged and it is sweet. I guess it runs 11'* on street tires and full weight. In any case turbo alone on those cars are sweet and they really move. Any ideas what either of those run?

Neither of these cars have been to the track in their current configuration. Just want to make clear the the 04'* supercharger is disabled and used as a plenum only.

The 04 has the same setup as Charles Beyer'* (DHP), he dyno'd at 403 WHP at 10 PSI while the one above runs 13 PSI. There is another one around in our local GP Club with the same configuration that has run 11.90 ET

Damn those cars are quick

Cheers,

outside of a turbodiesel in a truck, there are not any engines that are as big as our with a turbo. That must be scary fast. Especially the GTP, since it can run higher boost w/o problems. Can anyone say 20PSI?
