What are the Differences in GP and Bonneville L67's?
 

I am just wondering what the differences were between the L67 in the bonneville and the L67 in the grand prix, circa 1998? I figure mounts for sure, but are there any other big differences? Also, would it swap into a 98 Bonneville without much issue? Thanks

I think the PCM's are a little different, and the mounts like you mentioned, but I think that's about it.

It's definitely swappable though. I'm almost positive Haro's motor is from a GP.

The accessory bracket is different too. Look for Haro's motor swap topic after he bought his 2k. He ran into a few problems.

You have to change all of the accessories. Powersteering pump, alternator, A/C compressor, and the oil filter adapter like previously mentioned, and the oil pan is completely different. The exhaust manifold in the rear is also different, although I didn't change mine. Let's see, what else....you have to modify the transmission lines a little with an adapter/reducer coupler, motor mounts of course are completely different. If you don't want the dogbone motormount just sitting there you have to replace the coil bracket or cut it off like I did. PCM is definately different and you have to have your VIN programmed into it for the Pass Key III system to work. The transmissions are different in the Bonneville in that we have an internal gear position sensor and the GP is an external one, so you have to change out the wiring harness and position sensor if you change the trans as well. If not, no worries. And you have to change two plugs if you go from a NA to a supercharged but they sell a swap kit for that. Other than that I don't think I remember any other problems. If you have the old motor there it is really easy to just exchange parts real quickly and it isn't too bad.

hrm... sounds like a bunch of parts are different.

If I were to get this, it would be for my 93, so the VIN isn't an issue. But it does leave me with no parts to swap over to.
