Default Is it possible....

to do a series2 L67 drop-in into my '90 in a weekend if I had everything I would need engine, trans, wiring,etc... I understand that by no means is it just a plug-n-play.

Paging DarkShadow to General Chat.....

I'm not sure but i imagine it would be quite the undertaking. Conveniently enough Darkshadow is from around here and has swapped an L67 into his 88-91 so hopefully he'll see this or i'd suggest PMing him. I haven't been seeing him post as much lately.

Darkshadow didn't do that swap. But he'* worked on it enough that he probably knows most of it.

Randman1 did the swap. That was the official christening of the Villa. To make this happen, yes a couple of motivated individuals "COULD" do it in one weekend.

Here'* what you need, everything ready and waiting to get dropped in and rewired. You would litterally have to be ready ahead of time.

Cruise control can be rewired ahead of time. Vats would need to be added or bypassed in the PCM. Exhaust on standby...slightly different. Wiring connector made ahead of time. Fuel lines ready for swapping. New fuel sender in tank. New AC evap, condensor and lines.

That doesn't account for the engine, trans and axles.

You could do much of it ahead of time and be in prep mode. For example. You change the fuel sender and drive by mileage for a week or so. You add the cruise control wiring ahead of time. Prep your engine harness adapter/connector and have a gutted parts car on hand for anything you might need.

Search Frankenbonne by myself or Randman1 Then if you want more pictures look in my photobuckets.

Cool, didn't know that. Didn't he have a fuel pump go south causing him to lean out and blow up that first engine? I assumed he did the second swap but wasn't sure. Did Villa Motorsports do the second engine as well? (that is also out of commission now). Not saying you guys did faulty work to cause his engines to blow, just figured because he has had a couple in there that he did at least one of them himself .
