The announcement has gone out, that the Ontario Bonneville Club, is going to close. Due to lack of traffic and support over the last couple years, it didn't make much sense to keep it going.
The domain name will expire on Aug 5th 2006 and so will the hosting. Neither of them will be renewed. It was offered for anyone to take over, but even that didn't show any interest.

Sorry to hear that, man. I know this has been a little bit of a sore spot for you, especially when BC crashed a few months back. I think the simple fact of the matter is BC provides an awesome community as a national board, so the existence of regional boards is almost unneeded. If the situation were more like Club Grand Prix, where many owners have issues with the parent site, there might be more traffic on the smaller boards. However, it'* hard for people to frequent the smaller sites when there'* such a great national board for everyone to enjoy.
I commend your efforts to keep it going this long, and I hate to hear that something you worked hard to create is fading away. However, you've always seemed to be a good-natured, helpful member of Bonneville Club, and it'* great to have folks like you as part of the community. I hope this doesn't hinder your contributions or time spend at BC. Think of it as a positive indication of the thriving nature of this parent website.
Cheers to you, for all your hard work and effort!

To be honest, even I spend more time on BC than the regional board, for the very reason that this club is so helpful and has so much info. I know it was a good idea a couple years ago when it was started but in the end, maybe it was wishful thinking, hehe.

Agreed and I missed the post looking for someone to take it over. I am/was registered there as It was easier to do so than wait for the Minn. club to accept my request when the main forum went down.. And I thank you for that . I would be interested in making it a Northest/Ontario regional club forum. i think there would be a little more support if It was joined with the NE "Mafia" headed by our own B.Bill If there is still time, shoot me some facts and money figures. I could certainly foot the bill and further my electronic education. I'm no computer whiz but like challenges and i'm sure I would get alot of help from the NE faction.

Until Aug 5th I still own the domain name, and could transfer it to someone else, they would just have to pay for it. It is about 9$ a year US. Then you can get hosting at whatever place you like. I can let you know what I use. It is the same place that I told Gordy from MN to go when he was putting his site up.
But I am not sure you would want the name since it is Ontario Bonneville club. I did keep a backup of everything, but again, it was more specific to Ontario, and besides, there was not that much posted that you would want to move to a new forum unless it was to just keep the Ontario one up.
