I raced a white 90 SSE last year. His car seemed to be in good condition. We were laughing back and forth because no one was making any real gains, until we hit around 80 and I pulled away from him. I had to take the next street, we just waved at each other. I suspect the reason for my win was my new engine, still a VIN C, but (at the time) less then 40k on it, and the dealership said it was boared out a bit more (not exactly sure how much, or what that means).
I was also in a 3 Bonneville race a while ago, a 92SE and a 97 SSEi. The 92SE and the 97SSEi were side by side when the light went green. I was behind the 92SE (another car was behind the 97SSEi). The SSEi took off like a bat out of hell, no way was I catching that. But the 92SE wasn't really moving. I pulled into the 97SSEi'* lane and passed the 92SE. It was clear he was giving her all she had, but it was also clear the car wasn't in that great of shape (minor rust, dings, and primer). I just waved at him and tried (in vain) to come anywhere close to the SSEi.
Man... I've never owned a SC'ed Bonnie.... but I miss it.

Hrm.... time to put up some posters and drum up some Bonneville members in the NS area. The cars are rare around here.
It'* a sweet/bitter relationship... I love it that not everyone drives one, but at the sametime I wish I knew people who did.

I'm 2/2 in racing other bonne'*
they were both black and both races were like in a 2 week time span.
The first one was a 92-95 SSEi body style..won
and the 2nd was the exact same..but had some big *** exhaust pipes comin' out the butt.. and beat that one as well...he was quite anxious too...and he seemed very happy to see another bonne. I never got a chance to talk to him though because after i beat him he slowed down to like 20 and then turned after about 1/2 a mile. I havent ran into another bonne wantin some action sense..

I'm still going to race my brother'* g/f. She has a 99SE, stock. I just want to see how well I can keep up. It will be close. I've driven hers on the thruway and it doesn't seem to have the pickup I have...but maybe that'* just because it'* quieter than mine and I can't hear the engine roar. :? But I like how mine feels better.
If I race her when I'm cool, and less than 180 degrees still, I'll probably kill her. I've driven mine for two years so I know how mine shifts and so on. She'* had hers for a couple months, and just mashes the gas to speed up. I'll report back whenever she'* up for it.
