Well.. I did a few races over the long weekend in my newly aquired 97 SSEI stock. I raced a totally riced out Prelude ( Light up "H", Big *** wing, that loud lawnmower exhaust ). He stomped on it.. and I easily kept up with him side by side with half throttle.. then I went WOT.. Shot right by him.. he looked pissed, but for some reason.. I decided to slow down, and he passed me. Sure enough though, 3 lights down.. we hit a red.. next thing I know, a cop comes flying up right behind me and pass me to the prelude in front of me to give him a nice ticket.. good thing about so called family cars ( makes me wonder if I really want a loud exhaust now ) :?:

Then I was at the gas station filling up "The Beast". Beside me was this ***** who had a new Cougar.. he had racing gloves on and everything.. he gave my car a glance and gave that..( I'd whoop you cars *** anytime look in front of his g/f). So we left about the same time.. and he tried to desparetly take of from me, but I never had a problem being up his ***.. that was until we got onto the highway. we both went WOT on the "on ramp" .. up over and gone...I easily shot pass him and left him almost 10 cars back even before the end of the "On ramp".. I slowed down... waiting for him to come up beside me.. and he didn't want to even look over at me.. ha ha ha..( his g/f smiled and winked at me though ) he went WOT again.. and again I embarassed him and took off easily on him.

On the way home.. I saw a new Corvette on the highway.. I thought.. what the hell.. he could probably out do me.. but lets see. I passed him.. and sure enough he shot behind me and started tailgating.. then he went into the next lane and heard him downshift and WOT. By the time I realized it was on.. he was already beside my front door. Thinking that he already had the advantage of already going WOT before I did, and the speed increase he had already.. I went WOT thinking I would just keep pace with him, but to my surprise.. we got up nose to nose.. then I started pulling by him by about 2 cars.. until the governor kicked in and then he started to pass me... DAMM GOVERNOR I think the Corvette driver and I were really surprised that my Bonnie could give him such a run.. and I would've beaten him if not for the governor. Generally though.. I am extremely please with the car.. excellent Sleeper 2 thumbs up and a whole lot of Eat my Dirt.. ha ha ha

I got a '95 SSEi, hence my screen name, and I get all the same looks. Everyone thinks it'* some slow grandpa car. I find the looks on their faces when they get smoked to be priceless. Pople don't realize that those ricers just aren't that fast, they just feel faster because of the shorter wheelbase on the hopping feeling it gives when they shift.

As far as the Corvette goes, you the man. I seriously wouldn't think that a Bonneville could ever run with one let alone pull ahead. If I were that vette owner it would be in the shop getting as many bolt-ons as possilbe to help recover some of the cars dignity.

I'v done 65 in 30'* in front of cops, by accident of coarse , and for some reason they just seem to ignore me. Well I'm not gonna complain about that. We do have one of the best sleepers out there!

Great kills but my guess is the Vette wasn't even trying. A new vette runs low 13'* in the 1/4 but is even faster up top.

Yea.. I didn't think I could've beaten a Vette.. :? But I thought what the hell.. lets find out anyways . Maybe like ssei95 said... maybe he needed to redo his Vette.. or maybe he just didn't know how to downshift upshift properly.. Anyways you cut it, that'* an embarassement for him . Kinda like having a Civic ( stock looking ) blowing by your doors on the Bonnie ( To that.. I"m sure Civic could if you invest enough money into it )

Hey good kills man! It'* so cool being the underdog cause don't matter what happens u don't look bad. I mean if u beat someone that "looks" fast then everyone is like wow I can't believe that Bonneville won...that'* amazing. And if u lose then no one gives u a hard time cause full size sedans are not expected kick ***.

Are you sure the Corvette was a new one?? The older ones (66-8 run anywhere between 14.6-16.8...so it'* possible for a bonnie to beat one of them stock for stock.

It wasn't an old Corvette.. from the styling.. it seems like 97 and up. Well.. for whatever reason, I was putting distance on him, and it doesn't appear like he WASN'T trying, because he couldn't keep up till my governor kick in.. then he start to catch up and pass me.

I will see you friday Tamara.... I'm going to get my car re-certified.

If you think a SSEi is a sleeper then you should try my 92 SE with 2 car seats in the back seat! I've beaten more cars this way since they think it'* pretty slow. BTW: If you remember right I'm still only running on 5.5 Cylinders too! Well i tell the loser that he usually feels even worse!
