ok i would almost be sure that the part that im looking for should be the same as on the bonneville. on my grand prix i have a single key (key goes to everything) double sided.

my problem is theres a silonoid eather on the floor shifter thingie or on the ignition some where. what it does. it makes it so your key will not turn off all the way (cant take the key out) like if you have it in drive or anotherr gear but park and try taking the key out. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. well im not sure what this part is called. neather does autozone. go figure. but im looking for eather the part number and/or name. thanks

i would try first to.pull off the shifter and flick the switch

ok, sounds like a plan only thing im not to sure about is where it is located. iver heard that it was by the shifter then last night i was speaking with someone and they said that the unit was located under the steering colum. so............ thanks

ok just checked my emails the part i am looking for is called an electronic park lock solenoid. and its located under the dash. now im gonna try searching for a part number.
the ppl at autozone said that they have never sold one there, but the guy i was speaking with said he worked at the parts desk of our local gm dealer and said in the 10 yrs he worked at teh dealer he has only sold ONE. wow i take it they dont go out to much.
