Default Brand new N* throttle body

I just got this today! $50 shipped. It looks, smells, and overall is completely new. For some reason, this makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. The pics were taken with my cell phone, so the flash was too bright for the clean aluminum finish. I got lucky with one, but all the pics had to be taken from an angle.

Yea, REAL pretty, but where does the MAF sensor go? Or do you have a workaround for that? Something along the lines of the Chevy Blazer MAF'*?

I've already got an LQ4 maf. It'* an 85mm thing of awesomeness that sits in the air intake tubing in front of the throttle body. The people that use N* and LS1 throttle bodies, among others, use these MAFs. Some even take out and smooth away the MAF hump in a stock throttle body because the 85mm version is said to help air flow better than a MAF post. The MAF sensor is already in the SLO. The cool thing about it is that it not only does mass airflow, but also it has an IAT sensor built in. No more little IAT sensor sticking into the intake tubing!

There'* one I found that is used, but it was $8 less with shipping calculated to my zip code. Want me to look into it for you? You're a $100 adapter plate, $50 MAF sensor, $15 throttle cable bracket, and $10 TPS adapter cable away once you've got the throttle body!

Looks cleaned up very well. Wouldn't know it was used except where the gold chromate has come off the zinc plated parts.

I need to get all my transmission parts before I get other parts. Right now I have a stock 97-98 throttle body and I'm going to chop out the MAF post. I've got a LS1 MAF lined up.

You say it'* used? I only believe it'* new so that I can be filled with a trivial sense of satisfaction. Hmm...

With all those things he'* bored out, he may be all right at it. Too bad that any other bore work anyone else did used to be attacked. That'* not good boring sportsmanship.

I'm considering having it machined straight to the lip. All depends on the potential results. FWIW, I could just take a very large flap sander to the rough inside and get it smoothed out. I used some Nevr-Dull and hand-polished it for 10 minutes - it'* a noticeable change! It'* much smoother though it retains stock casting.

EDIT: Didn't see your post, Dan. The stock TB can be pretty good if you bore it out. Did you see Shelton'*? He got a stock one to 80mm at the throttle plate! You just have to be really good and make a new plate for it to get some good gains. But the LS1 MAF and no internal MAF hump is a great start, and it was what I considered doing before I decided to spend more money.

Very nice Rad. That'* right about what I paid for mine new.

They are out there and available for great prices. BTW American Supercharger sells the adapters on Ebay for around $70

Thanks, Bill! I'll go have a look right now. Now I need to knock out two more potential purchases: the throttle cable bracket and the TPS adapter cable.

It'* said you can just cut up but then weld the N* TB'* cable bracket so it works for L67s and doesn't need to be replaced. If you know about this, let me know.

If anyone has the N* TPS sensor connector, please post here. I need to pay less than $10 for it. Also, it would be nice to have a wiring diagram for the two TPS sensors, but I could probably figure it out with a multimeter.
