Default What do you guys think about headers....?

My partner and I have been discussing and we were thinking about making headers for the L36/67 considering The Other Guys headers are $750 which is insane and even though people have brought their cars to JBA Headers (I talked to them as well in person w/ the owner) and another company that wasnt ever named, nothing has showed up. If anyone can hook me up with some L36 exhaust manifolds cheap, I am going to make a set of headers for my car in either stainless steel or titanium. So..... get me some exhaust manifolds cheap! This will benefit everyone and I can obviously make them less than $750, I would shoot more towards the $500 range which is much much better and without hte whole "nickel" coating thing. Some feedback would be good so I know whether or not other people are interested in this project as well to see if I should produce them.

Once I get a set of used L36 exhaust manifolds I can fab up a set of headers in about a day out of stainless steel. I might also go titanium, whichever I feel like. But the titanium definetly has bragging rights. The sooner I can get the L36 exhaust manifolds (extra ones), the sooner I can make them, figure out a price and produce them. I am looking to do this withing the next month and hopefully bring them all ready to go in a month. We shall see.

Here is another option that I am installing this weekend. They arrived yesterday and I can't wait to get them installed and my baby on the dyno! I will post the numbers as soon as they are available. I do my HP count at the wheels, so ya'll get a true number for comparison.

These are made from stock units and are perfect for us NA drivers. The Other Guys headers actually hurt those without some sort of boost equipment (SC,turbo) because of the lack of gross back pressure. I would recommend spending the extra $$$ to get the thermal coating and then wrapping then before you install to keep the heat where it belongs. I will be taking underhood temps as well after the installation to see what kind of improvement I get...CAI has to benefit from this!

turtle_sse, how is that Jet Performance Chip. One of my distributors has them and I was wondering if it makes a difference?

Ok..... noone can help me get a set of used L36 exhaust manifolds? What is this I keep hearing of people having mad connections, this is for the benefit of every L36... It would kinda help if I could get them cheap since shipping will be kidna price since they are not heavy.

I've only got one bonneville up here in the junkyard, and it'* an L27.....the motor has too much front end damage, anyway. I know there'* at least 2 auto wreckers on the site.....one of them is B&R Auto Wreckers here in town (where the bonneville is I was telling you about) but I don't remember who the other one is.....???

If you could check for me that would be great. I just need a set of used L36 exhaust manifolds so I dont have to take them off my car to fab up some nice shiny stainless steel ones. I don't want to pay too much cause I am not exactly goign to use them, and they are everyone, people probably use them as doorstops.

love it if you have a modified motor low temp thermo, and low restricted exhaust you can get 15-25 hp increase
( stage 2)
stage 1 for stock motor these chips will modify your spark curve, air/fuel ratio, torque lock up, shift points a whole range of good thingscost me $ 259 cdn
worth it

Just checked Jet'* website. They claim up to 50hp gain on SC'd engines, stage 2. WOW.
