A local asked me to put in a cam and transmission for him. 3 or so hours from the time I got home... It'* about time to go pick up a transmission. While waiting for the better time traffic wise I started in on the car.

The jack was made for this car.

Who'* great idea at ZZP was it to not tap the metal of the flange? ZZFail I tell ya. It could have been much easier, much. Ben used 15mm nuts here, and 14'* on the downpipe. Kept me hopping to the toolbox, thanks for the exercise, lol

Already got past the visible ones. My next concern is if the double roller timing chain gear on the crank was chamfered for the issue of it being an Aussie chain and this being a US crank. (different noses/chamfers that causes issues on the US ones not aligning properly.) If that'* out of whack then I need a crank gear to match up and drop at the machine shop.

I could have imagined that the Aus setup had such a LIM, but I'm surprised nonetheless. That looks pretty awesome!

Took the balancer off and oil pan bolts. This aluminum pan makes it easy, the mount stays on it. No need to jockey three jacks.

Timing chain is off. It was chamfered at home to accept the US crankshaft (timing set is Aussie and doesn't fit 100% out of the box)

Machinist told me the last time I was there to polish a couple of cams that all they were doing was using an oily green scrubby pad to polish. It'* not very abrasive. Off to Home Depot. Hardly recognize it.

About to put the valve covers on and I notice.. the gaskets are L67/L32 (like I purchased) and the valve cover is for an L36/L26. Ordering the correct gaskets today. :bonk: Went in and took a shower.

I think it'* a PT61, not sure. I can get a better picture.

It'* my first time going through the wheel well. A lot of people do it this way. Overall it'* not much less work IMO than pulling the motor. Yet being my first time..it may seem that way because of the first time syndrome.
