Default New Xenon bulbs!! Help

I bought some Super White Xenon low beams since I don't have $ for HIDS now...and I noticed that there'* a metal piece that surrounds the passenger side bulb, but not on the driver'* side. It'* noticeable when the lights are on so I want to take the metal piece out.

First, do ppl know what I mean by this piece. And how do I take it out? Can I do it from the back or do I have to take the glass off? Thanks a lot.

Mista knows, U must have a new light for ur driver side right? the peace ur talkin about is a round peace of metal I guess, it'* purpose thier I don't know. Maybe it'* a aimer or somthin, the 96-uppers have them too, but theirs are seald off in the front like a cap, not like ours that have the circle that just goes around the bulb. I guess this makes the lights not noticeable from the side, looks like thier not on; All newer cars have those kinda covers over the bulbs again, I don't know why.

back to ur question though Mista 9intey-fo I don't think U can maybe I'm wrong; I also wanted my passengers "aimer" out too but I just siad f*&^ it and left it alone, In my sig U can see that one of my lights is brighter than the other, I guess that'* the reason?

Sounds like it'* fallen off or out of the driver'* side, or you have an aftermarket headlamp assembly. Not sure how you'd take the other out, but I'd be more tempted to put the missing one back. It makes a big difference where the light is projected to.

I asked that question too Will, they told me tha aftermarkets have already been aimed that'* why they don't come with those aimers.

Those aren't aimers. They're designed to prevent the light from running to the fringes of the housing, forcing it mostly directly out front. That'* why the stock driving lights have them on the upper portion, because driving lights are intended to be projected on the road directly in front of the car.

I'd bet if the light came that way, it'* because the rear reflector housing is a slightly different design, or the prism/lens assembly is different. If this is the case, there should be a noticeable difference between his headlights.

I found out that my car was in an accident in 99, maybe the front was damaged and the headlight assembly is newer, but to me it looks exactly the same. But it can't be newer than 95. I don't know how I didn't catch it earlier. But I'll look more closely tomorrow before I drop my car off at the body shop. I wonder if I can just buy this metal piece for the other side..... :? It'* just so noticeable now that the lights are brighter and I can see the 3 lines that are probably the shadow of the metal thing even more clearly. Oh well, it'* not a big deal... I'm just a perfectionist.

Will'* right about the "metal" ring. It may have been replaced with an aftermarket lamp housing when it was in an accident & this why the "metal" ring isn't present.
Out of curiousity, how do you like those Xenon bulbs? I now sell them & want some feed back as if they are good or not?

I haven't had much time to test 'em out yet. I just bought them last night and I had to drop my car off at the body shop this morning. But they are definitely brighter, and they're not yellowish like stock...so I like 'em.
